Camilo Atala: the role of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in Honduras’ economic growth

The Executive President of Grupo Financiero Ficohsa, Camilo Atala, understands that the consolidation of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs must be supported in order to contribute to the growth of Honduras.

Honduras is a country with many opportunities, especially for businessmen and entrepreneurs who are determined to grow their businesses. Supporting these entrepreneurs contributes to the country’s sustainable economy and its development is reflected in the improvement of its inhabitants.

One of the main benefits of supporting entrepreneurs is the creation of jobs, which contributes to improving people’s standard of living and reducing poverty. This is achieved through tax incentives, accessible credit, access to technology and training for entrepreneurs.

Investment in infrastructure is also a way to support entrepreneurs. This helps to improve the environment in which businesses operate, providing better roads, transportation, energy and telecommunications services, among others, which reduces transportation costs and other services, thus improving business productivity.

Increasing the number of jobs in the locality will improve the infrastructure, allowing businesses to expand, thus attracting new investors and a greater flow of foreign capital, resulting in greater prosperity for the locality.

This will also help local citizens as they will have more employment opportunities.

On the other hand, it is important to encourage domestic production in order to achieve sustainable and equitable development. To this end, measures must be taken to support small farmers and entrepreneurs by increasing demand for their products and offering them the opportunity to expand.

This will be achieved by boosting the consumption of locally grown and processed products, and the State must provide the necessary support to ensure that these initiatives succeed.

The State must also invest in education and training for producers and consumers so that they can learn about the benefits of buying and consuming products made in Honduras.

Finally, the State should invest in the creation of a national brand that promotes products made in Honduras, highlighting their quality and origin. This will allow consumers to easily identify products made in Honduras and, therefore, be more likely to buy them.
